Weeding
To protect the environment from being further contaminated by the herbicides, we are aiming at weeding mechanically with robotic arms. This ultimate goal will be achieved with a series of procedures, including weed detection, localization and robotic controls.
We are currently growing various types of weeds with rows of corn stalks in our greenhouse, taking pictures/videos on a regular basis throughout their early growing seasons to train the neural network used for detection and localization.
